Associate Lawyer
(905) 655-7377
I am an associate lawyer at Russell Alexander Collaborative Family Lawyers, fully trained in Collaborative Practice, and able to leverage 10+ years of Family Law practice (including Motions Court, Mediation, Trial preparation and Settlement negotiations) in achieving favourable outcomes for my clients.
Detail-oriented and highly motivated, I approach client consultations with a compassionate, but analytical mindset, and endeavor to provide my clients with the very best representation possible.
Early in my career, I interned at Fasken Martineau, a leading Bay Street law firm (2010-2011), and was called to the Ontario Bar in September, 2012. I then practiced Family, Wills and Estates Law at a firm in Pickering, before eventually launching my own Family Law practice (SMC Law) in 2014. Having successfully managed my own practice for over 5 years, I joined Russell Alexander in November, 2019. I hold a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the West Indies (2006), a post graduate Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad (2008), and I also graduated from the University of Toronto’s Internationally Trained Lawyer’s Program (2011). I am a member of the Durham Region Law Association, the Law Society of Ontario, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (Ontario Chapter), and the Christian Legal Fellowship.
I was born and raised in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago, where I developed a passion for law at a young age, interestingly, by watching the Canadian legal drama, Street Legal! Since migrating to Canada, I have pursued my professional and personal life with equal fervor, and together with my husband and young family, I enjoy tickle fights and games of hide and seek, as well as curling up on the couch for a good movie. I am also passionate about supporting local and international charities and humanitarian aid organizations, including World Vision International, ERDO, and The Salvation Army.
