Associate Lawyer
Joseph is an Associate lawyer at Russell Alexander practicing exclusively in family law. He is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate difficult transitions with clarity, compassion, and practical guidance. Joseph understands the emotional and financial impact family law matters can have and is committed to providing steady, client-focused advocacy throughout every stage of the process.
With a background in commerce, Joseph brings a strategic and solutions-oriented approach to his practice, drawing on strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to help clients achieve meaningful outcomes. While studying law at Queen’s University, he gained valuable hands-on experience through the Family and Children Law Placement course led by Professor Nicholas Bala.
Joseph manages all aspects of family law files, including parenting disputes, support claims, property division, and complex settlement negotiations. He has experience representing clients through mediations, collaborative processes, and court proceedings before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including conferences, motions, and trial proceedings. He is committed to helping clients resolve matters as efficiently and effectively as possible while remaining focused on their long-term goals.
Known for his approachable and personable demeanor, Joseph prioritizes clear communication, responsiveness, and practical advice tailored to each client’s unique circumstances. As a certified collaborative lawyer with the Ontario Association of Collaborative Professionals, he is trained in a form of specialized alternative dispute resolution focused on resolving family law matters outside of court in a respectful and cooperative environment.
Outside the office, Joseph is an avid sports fan who loyally, and often painfully, supports the Toronto Maple Leafs and the LA Rams. He enjoys playing hockey, watching a good movie, and spending time with family and friends.
