Law Clerk
I joined Russell Alexander Collaborative Family Lawyers in September 2022 after working at a small practice in Toronto. My role at Russell Alexander involves assisting clients and their families to navigate the legal process and achieve their unique goals. I find great satisfaction in my daily tasks, whether conducting virtual meetings with clients, managing document services and filings, or reviewing court documents.
In 2019, I returned to my education as a mature student and earned my bachelor’s degree in political science from York University. My firm belief in universal human rights led me to further my studies, and I was accepted into the Human Rights and Multilevel Governance Master’s program at the University of Padova in Italy in 2021.
Having been born in Havana, Cuba, and spending my early years in a less developed country with limited political freedom and an absence of the rule of law, I have also lived over half my life in Canada, a prosperous nation with a strong democracy, decentralized federal system, and rich constitutional history. These contrasting experiences have given me a unique perspective on the importance of judicial independence and the value of access to justice for all individuals, regardless of their background or beliefs.
Working at Russell Alexander is a dream come true for me. This firm is at the forefront of using technology to help clients save time and money, providing average Ontarians access to top-notch legal representation. Furthermore, it allows me to work from anywhere worldwide while pursuing my passion for helping others.
In my free time, I am a pragmatic dreamer; I frequently take pleasure in devising plans for my next adventure by the sea. This ecosystem, which holds most of my dearest memories, is why I am so fond of our country’s motto: “A Mari Usque Ad Mare.” The scent of the sea brings me to a place where I belong.
When not indulging in my daydreams about the waves, I can be found belting out tunes like “Band On The Run,” “I Won’t Back Down,” and “Eye in the Sky” while strumming my imaginary guitar. An ideal Sunday to me means a happy smile, family, “café con leche”, a hearty breakfast of French toast smothered in maple syrup and butter, bacon, and a refreshing glass of guava juice. These are the small things that bring me joy.
