Kimberly Paynter

Associate Lawyer

I am an associate lawyer at Russell Alexander practicing in all areas of family law. My objective is to achieve a resolution as efficiently as possible for my clients and I strive to do this through negotiations, but you will not find me shying away from litigation. I pride myself on truly listening and understanding my clients, and ensuring they feel supported throughout the whole process.

I attended the University of Ottawa where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Ethics and Society. I went on to obtain my LL.B from La Trobe University in Australia, obtained my Certificate of Qualification through the National Committee on Accreditation, and was called to the Bar in 2013. I articled and started my career practicing in the areas of family law, criminal law, civil law, and wills and estates. My interest in family law really took over, and that is the area I have been exclusively practicing in. I was an adjunct professor at Seneca College in the paralegal program and was previously empanelled by the Ministry of Community and Social Services to attend court on behalf of the Ministry, dealing with the enforcement of support orders.

I have been very lucky to have lived in three continents and this sparked my love of travel. In my spare time you can catch me curled up to a good novel, drinking copious amounts of coffee, working out, and riding my Peloton to the top of the leaderboard.
