Claudia Barrientos Batista

Law Clerk

I joined the firm in September 2025, bringing with me a background in both family law and fertility law. Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients through some of the most personal and life-changing moments—whether it’s navigating a separation or building a family through assisted reproduction.

I studied Sociology at York University and completed my Law Clerk Diploma at Seneca College. My training gave me a strong foundation in law, but what truly shapes my approach is my commitment to people. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish, and I’ve worked with clients from many different backgrounds. I believe in meeting everyone with empathy, respect, and care, while keeping the practical details of their cases on track.

What I love most about my work is the human side—listening, assisting, and making the legal process feel a little less overwhelming.

Outside of work, I’m often found reading (currently Joan Didion’s Notes to John is a favorite), watercolor painting, or chasing after my adventurous daughter on one of our hikes. I also volunteer with Hope+Me, continuing my commitment to community support and mental health advocacy.

Having been born in Cuba, I am an island girl at heart and frequently daydream of living in a tiny cottage by the sea.
