We are excited to announce that Alyssa Gassi has joined the firm as an Associate Lawyer.

Alyssa’s approach to family law is comprehensive and holistic with a strategic insight into the human condition and the complexities of our most personal and intimate relationships. Her passion and drive to shift the narrative in how the law is applied has set the stage for her desire to foster cohesive, effective, and healing solutions for family law disputes. Her patience, compassion, empathy, strength, resilience, intellect, emotional intelligence, and work ethic creates a strong and reliable foundation for her clients, as they trust her solely and completely to “leave no stone unturned” in reaching an appropriate solution to their unique family law matters.
Alyssa completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with Honours where she initially studied Forensic Science for two (2) years prior to completing their pre-law program of Criminology & Socio-Legal Studies and Sociology. Alyssa’s career plan to becoming a lawyer with a balanced and inclusive foundation was deliberate and meticulous, with an initial goal of gaining significant work experience prior to attending Law School. Alyssa worked in Human Resources, with Municipal Law and Enforcement, with regulatory compliance, and with property investments prior to completing her LLB at the University of Leicester Law School in England with Honours. Alyssa specifically chose to study law in England to develop a strong understanding of how English common law has shaped and continues to influence Canadian law. Alyssa also chose to study law in England for the opportunity to thoroughly study, learn, and experience the various cultures and foreign policies throughout the United Kingdom and the European Union. After graduating and returning to Canada, Alyssa worked in family law, civil litigation, wills and estates, and criminal law, and completed her articling at the Crown Attorney’s Criminal Division as a student prosecutor. Alyssa worked as a Municipal Prosecutor in two jurisdictions in Ontario prior to being called to the bar in 2025 and has since practiced family law.
Alyssa utilizes her investigative and inquisitive mindset together with her unique background to service her clients. Alyssa has been considered as a “jack of all trades” with an intentional focus on the law and how it can positively be applied to shape the future of our society in a restorative manner. Alyssa’s strong sense of justice, fairness, and equity fuels her ultimate goal of transforming an unfortunate incident or series of events into something beautiful and sustainable for her clients’ futures.
In Alyssa’s personal time, she values peace and serenity at home with her two pets, Dexter and Harvey. Alyssa loves to read, watch documentaries, series, and movies, lives an active lifestyle at her local gym, surrounding parks, hiking trails, and Lake Superior beaches, and loves to cook, bake, and spend time with her family in Sault Ste. Marie.
As a client of Alyssa’s, you will feel heard and understood, and you will appreciate her willingness to advocate for you while providing you with sound and logical legal advice.
