In Russell Alexander’s appearance on CTV with Tony Ryma on May 5th, 2021, he notes that although there have been many challenges that families have faced throughout the pandemic, there has also been some silver linings in certain cases for divorced parents.
Despite many co-parenting disagreements on issues such as social bubbles, child access, remote vs. in-person learning, travel & vaccination, in some cases it has also helped separated couples move forward with resolving longstanding issues. Russell shares that in some ways, the shift in Family Court to virtual hearings via Zoom, has even increased access to justice and made divorce more cost-efficient.
