Aleksandra Czyzowska is an associate lawyer at Russell Alexander Family Lawyers who practices in all areas of family law, including Collaborative Family Law, divorce, custody, access, child support, spousal support, domestic contracts and property-related issues. She is dedicated to helping clients find effective solutions to their family law problems.
Aleksandra works out of the Brooklin office, but meets with clients in all three of the firm’s offices. Her clients include individuals who are going through a divorce or separation, including both married and common-law spouses, as well as parents who are seeking advice regarding issues such as custody, access and support. Aleksandra encourages parties to work towards reaching an agreement out of court. She helps clients achieve this by negotiating on their behalf, communicating with the other party’s lawyer, or conducting a four-way meeting between the parties and their lawyers. Where a resolution outside of court is not possible, Aleksandra represents her clients at the Superior Court of Justice (Family Court Branch) on her clients’ behalf.
In 2008, Aleksandra graduated from the University of Ottawa with highest distinction, receiving a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a specialization in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. In 2011, she completed her law degree at the University of Ottawa and began her articles with the federal Department of Justice. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2012 and joined Russell Alexander Family Lawyers immediately thereafter.
During law school, Aleksandra completed an internship in family law at an Ottawa law firm. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, a law student program that provides free legal services to organizations and individuals throughout Canada, where she worked under the supervision of a sole practitioner in family law, and at Family Services Ottawa, where she served as a supervisor in the Supervised Access Program.
Outside of work, Aleksandra enjoys spending time with family at the cottage, playing tennis, and staying active through running. A long-time resident of Oshawa, Aleksandra is enthusiastic about returning to the Durham Region to serve clients in and around her hometown.
