Working virtually as the firm’s Account Specialist, Dorothy advises clients on the status of their accounts. Dorothy regularly reviews each client’s account to ensure it is up to date, and works with clients to arrange flexible payment plans in order to minimize financial hardships. The firm takes care to ensure that all work completed on client accounts is detailed in a clear and precise fashion. Nonetheless, if a client has concerns regarding his or her account, Dorothy works to get those concerns resolved. Dorothy has worked in the legal field as a legal assistant, bookkeeper and credit manager for 19 years, and has been with Russell Alexander Family Lawyers since 2006.
Dorothy completed the Legal Assistant Program in Peterborough, Ontario, and studied real estate law at Sir Sandford Fleming College. She also keeps current by attending Law Society of Upper Canada courses on bookkeeping and estates law. Prior to joining Russell Alexander Family Lawyers, Dorothy worked for a law firm in Lindsay for 13 years. She has also done contract bookkeeping, real estate, and wills and estates work for various firms. She enjoys working with clients to get a clear understanding of each client’s particular needs and circumstances, and provides helpful answers to their questions regarding retainers.
Dorothy was born in Durham Region. She is married and has three children, three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. In her spare time, Dorothy’s favourite pastimes include auto racing and discovering her past through ancestry research. She enjoys working in a team environment at Russell Alexander Family Lawyers, as well as the problem-solving that is required as part of her job.
